Surrena Muse

Surrena Muse was born in Washington D.C., but has lived all over the United States. She finally settled in Raleigh in 1994 and considers it her home. She and her late husband had six children, ages 9 to 32. She homeschooled for over 23 years, two of her children all the way through high school. She also has informal experience in working with children with both learning and developmental disabilities. Her youngest three have attended CLA for the past 4 years. Surrena has worked as a Teacher's Assistant for 3 years. When she has free time, she loves to travel with her family, especially to historical sites. She and her family attend Christ Baptist Church, where she is active in serving in the children's ministry.
